Help Me Help You

Help Me Help You's mission is to feed, motivate, and transition homeless and low income youth and adults arming them with the tools necessary to become self sufficient by providing food, financial literacy, job development, and affordable housing.

Program objectives are to:

1. Reduce hunger among the homeless and low income populations.
2. Ease the financial burden among the homeless and low income populations.
3. Increase the employability of low income youth and adults.
4. Increase clients odds of achieving long-term self sufficiency.
5. Help reduce homelessness.

Description:
Help Me Help You's current programs include a weekly food pantry, weekly financial literacy courses, computer skills training, career development programs, and transitional housing. Currently we provide services to more than 3,000 clients per month, with 77% being Hispanic and 72% being single female headed households. In addition to programs, we host a number of fundraising events throughout the year, and we are active on Facebook.


History:
Incorporated in 2002, Help Me Help You believes that economic stability is the key to self sufficiency and a better quality of life. Serving homeless and low income children and families, our programs help clients move towards economic stability and independent living. According to the US Census, in the city of Long Beach, nearly 19% of families live below poverty level with 10% of that number earning less than $10,000 per year. Through our primary programs, clients gain access to the tools necessary to become self sufficient.
