Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Individuals who successfully graduate from our transitional program move out and move into their own permanent housing living situation. It is a huge accomplishment and can be a huge financial burden when first moving into their own apartment. Most have saved money for the security deposit and first month's rent, but it is often hard to purchase household items that are needed when you move into a new apartment.

Volunteers are needed to gather the supplies and put together laundry baskets filled with:

Household items (cleaning supplies)
Kitchen items (utensils, plates, coffee pots, pots & pans, tupperware, etc)
Bathroom items (towels, hygiene supplies, wash clothes, shower curtains, bath rugs, soaps, etc.)

Other donations could include: vacuums, microwaves, refrigerators, and beds.

This must be completed at the volunteer's home or within their community. Mercy House does not have the supplies or materials to put these baskets together.
