Introducing READ Jr .

Are you a teen who is looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity helping kids and their families improve their reading and writing skills? In READ Jr, teen volunteers will work with children in 1 st through 6 th grade along with their parents to help the family learn how to excel in school.

Kids get help with their reading and writing
Parents learn how to help their kids do well in school.
Teens earn volunteer hours while providing a valuable service

READ Jr. is a pilot program, so the selection of tutors will be a competitive process. Tutors must:

Be at least 15 years old and entering their sophomore year of high school.
Attain a B average in their previous school semester
Submit an application including a reference from a teacher or supervisor
Be selected through a phone interview
Successfully complete tutor orientation and training
