Our vision is to link youth and caring adult volunteers to exploration, play and reflection in nature near local communities so children grow to be healthy, comfortable outdoors, and knowledgeable and passionate about their land and community through their lives.

Description:
Project GO is a non-profit organization working with Minnesota communities to help design, implement and sustain after-school programs that get kids outdoors and engaged with nature in and near to their local communities.

History:
Project GO started in 2005 after the release of Richard Louv's book "Last Child in the Woods; Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder". The program began at the Plainview Youth Center, focusing on low-income and Latino youth in the community. Soon a board of directors was formed and the process of non-profit certification began. Currently, the University of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, US Fish & Wildlife Service and countless other agencies and organizations have partnered with Project GO to share resources and sustain this effort.
