Description:
The Pine Island Economic Development Authority (EDA) is the lead agency in charge of community development projects, grant writing and administration, volunteer coordination, along with business retention and expansion.

The EDA is an arm of the City of Pine Island established in 1993 to promote orderly growth, business development, and public capital improvement projects to add to, and improve the quality of life within and around Pine Island.

History:
The EDA was established under Minnesota State Statute as an economic and community development arm of the City of Pine Island. Since its establishment, the EDA was able to secure and manage grants and public funding for a variety of community projects to the tune of over 1.5 million dollars.
