Position title: Community Basics Community Solution Team Member
Description: Community Basics helps to meet basic needs for food, clothing, safe shelter and emergency assistance. Our outcome is that every person has access to an adequate, nutritious food supply.

Duties and Responsibilities: To regularly attend and participate in meetings and thus insure continuity of work and discussions; To come prepared to meetings, having reviewed all materials distributed in advance; To thoughtfully assess and analyze all matters brought before the team for consideration; Distribute resources according to appropriate/available means (i.e. fund awards, special grants, initiatives, etc.); Identify issues that need to be addressed; Bring together parties to discuss and address issues appropriate to each team; Embrace an open process that encourages/welcomes/ensures participation across the community; Maintain confidentiality when appropriate; Assure program effectiveness through evaluation of funded programs; Monitor how the collective mix of programs enables United Way to affect change at the community level; and Recommend public policy actions to Vision Council.

Desired Skills and Abilities: Belief in United Way mission and vision for its future; An active interest or expertise in the specific focus area; Willingness to engage in frank and candid discussion; Willingness to work towards group consensus; Ability to actively listen and communicate within a group; and Willingness to serve as a community ambassador for this focus area and its activities.
