Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Rainbow Club Visitors have a very special role at Samaritan Bethany Heights. Visitors will visit residents who are nearing the end of life, offering company and some extra tender loving care while the family is unavailable.

Some families need a break to be able to go home and take a shower, eat a meal, or sleep. Having a Rainbow Club Visitor lets the family know that someone will be with their loved one while the family is gone. Some residents have family far away who are unable to come for long visits. These families love to know that their loved one is not alone during this time.

AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 18 and older. COMMITMENT: Minimum of five hours a month. DAY OF WEEK: flexible. TIME OF DAY: Some families need help during the night, others during the day. Whatever works best for the resident, family and you. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Training is provided for all Rainbow Club Visitors in offering comfort and support. Rainbow Club Visitors do not offer medical care of any kind.
