Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Safe Haven is in need of a few volunteers who would be willing to take home a bag or two of laundry once a week or more. Keeping the bedding clean for the shelter cats creates lots of laundry and a couple hours of your time each week would be a great help.

AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 16 and older. COMMITMENT: 3 months. DAY OF WEEK: flexible. TIME OF DAY: flexible.

I learned new skills, but mainly worked with fantastic people!!!

Worked with Terry Hagen on updating the 211 system in Olmsted County for 3 months. I hadnt worked outside the home for 8 years, and despite my disability was able to gain self-confidence and it also helped my 12-Step Program. I learned that helping others was essential to my Recovery from Chemical Dependency. Everyone at the United Way was more than welcoming to me in every way.
