Youth mentors:
- develop and sustain positive interpersonal relationships with members as assigned and according to interest level
- attend programs and activities with mentees, where appropriate, and engage mentees in conversations, games, and other forms of interaction
- utilize a variety of methods to assess mentee needs and interests and develop strategies to suit them
- record observations and significant developments on case notes
- confer with staff, parents and teachers to discuss observations and significant developments
- attend public events outside the Club to support mentee interests and activities
- ensure the safety, security and appearance of Club spaces by monitoring conditions, behavior and interactions and intervening where appropriate
AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 18 and older. COMMITMENT: one day per week. DAY OF WEEK: flexible, Monday through Friday. TIME OF DAY: flexible, during hours of operation. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Basic volunteer orientation and mentor training will be provided.
