Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Be involved in the care of arenas, pastures, gardens, woodland areas, and farmyards for the Non-Profit organization RIDE of Rochester. If you are 16 and over, spend time on the farm with compassionate individuals and leave a positive impact on animals and people. Grounds keepers help prune, trim, weed, and plant in our pastures and visitor gardens and help maintain riding areas. You will label plants and trees, and share your knowledge of plant life and nature with others. Help develop learning gardens, walking and/or riding trails with supervision. Each RIDE site has a unique feel and focus requiring creative programs for children and families, so duties will vary.

AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 16 and older. COMMITMENT: Flexible, but prefer 1 hour minimum. DAY OF WEEK: flexible, every day. TIME OF DAY: flexible, dawn to dusk. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Training will vary per site, but a love of nature and being outdoors is required. Must be willing to work independently, with minimal supervision.
