Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center is seeking a backup cook to prepare a weekend evening meal for residents of our board and lodge. Weekend backup would be pre-scheduled providing time away for caretaker. The board and lodge is home to five to seven people with a mental illness. Work Saturday, Sunday or both days from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This volunteer should like to cook and take pride in a well-prepared meal. Menus are preplanned by staff and supplies needed for the meal will be on-site. Meals are usually filling, but not fancy. Volunteers welcome to join residents in eating the evening meal and adding to the feeling of "home." No clean up required; residents of the home do all the work! AGE OF VOLUNTEER: Adults, 18 years old or older. COMMITMENT: 2-3 hours. DAY OF WEEK: Saturday and/or Sunday. TIME OF DAY: 4-6:30 p.m. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Training provided prior to preparing first meal. Volunteers should be clean and neat appearing. Creativity within a budget a plus.
