Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Assist the Quarry Hill Instructor during our monthly cave programs. The volunteer will walk at the back of a group of 20-25 people and help to keep the group together during the cave hike & tour.

AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 18 and older. COMMITMENT: 1.5 hours per month; 6 month commitment is required as well. DAY OF WEEK: Sunday. TIME OF DAY: 1:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. OTHER REQUIREMENT(S): Volunteers must be comfortable being outdoors in all kinds of weather and able to walk up to 1/2 mile on uneven or rocky surfaces. We ask for a 6 month commitment from the volunteer for this position.

Directions:

From the north- take Hwy 52 to 37th street. Exit onto 37th street and take this road east. This road turns into County Road 22 or East Circle Drive as it rounds the East side of Rochester. Continue on this 4 lane road (as it turns toward the south). You will pass a Kwik Trip station on your right. Stay on the 4 lane road as it moves down the hill. The driveway to the Quarry Hill parking lot is on the right, Silver Creek Road NE. If you pass over the railroad tracks you have gone too far. From the South, take Broadway (63)North or County 52 North, to Hwy 14 going east. Take Hwy 14 to County Road 22 or East Circle Drive going north (this turn to the north is by Rochester University Center Campus). Stay on this road going north until you pass over a set of railroad tracks. The Quarry Hill driveway is the first road on the left after the tracks, Silver Creek Road NE.
