Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Campaign Account Executives work with 3 - 5 companies in the community as a United Way liaison to help them run successful campaigns. The most successful Account Executives are fun, outgoing, goal-oriented, emerging leaders who want to get more involved in their community through volunteerism and business networking.

Job Summary and Suggested Responsibilities:
Become knowledgeable, by attending a required training session, about United Way's goals, mission and values and serve as an advocate for United Way of Olmsted County. Utilize communication strategy provided by United Way.

Ensure that all campaign materials are delivered to assigned accounts by September 1.

Assist Employee Campaign Coordinator/s as they develop, implement and evaluate an inclusive campaign strategy and time line to ensure a successful outcome.

Monitor account progress, verify account results and conduct necessary follow-up. Assist with workplace presentations, campaign planning and special events of assigned accounts.

Report updates on your accounts to the United Way staff and/or your Campaign Cabinet representative as necessary, including the needs of the Employee Campaign Coordinator and the status of the campaign. Inform United Way staff of issues that may affect campaign results.

Assist Employee Campaign Coordinators with final reporting. Ensure proper completion and timely delivery of campaign envelopes to the United Way office.

AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 21 and older. COMMITMENT: Length of campaign (August through November) an average of 3-4 hours per account. DAY OF WEEK: Weekdays. TIME OF DAY: Flexible, various times to fit your schedule and the schedules of the accounts you work with. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT(S): Volunteers for this position will be asked to go through a brief interview process and a training session scheduled for August 19 from 7:30 am to 10:00 am at the Heintz Center on the RCTC Campus.
