| DELIVERIES: This volunteer MUST BE A DRIVER, with a valid license, good driving record and insurance.
We need volunteers to assist with deliveries of food, care items and other necessities. These items will be provided to delivery volunteers at the United Way of Olmsted County or a partnering organization. Training will occur prior to deliveries.
Drop Offs may be residential or other medical response centers.
Mileage cannot be covered at this time.
As a volunteer you will have an opportunity to help meet the needs in our community, gain experience in specific skill areas, and learn about the needs and response system in this region.
AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 18and older. COMMITMENT: Must commit to at least one time slot. DAY OF WEEK: flexible, Monday - Friday. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Volunteers will be given thorough guidance in materials, driving directions and tasks to be done, which may involve training through "shadowing" other volunteers/staff. In addition, volunteers will get an orientation to United Way of Olmsted County. Volunteers should be comfortable with driving and working with other people. A good understanding of the Rochester area is helpful, as is the ability to accurately follow instructions, traffic laws and maps.
Note: As a volunteer, you will NOT be exposed to those who are known to have H1N1. |
