RECEPTIONIST: This volunteer must have excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills. Clear and polite communication, attention to details, and the ability to multi-task are very important.
Work will include the signing-in, and initial intake of other volunteers, and the directing of calls and individuals. Training will be provided. This role may include some paperwork and other office duties as needed.
As a volunteer you will have an opportunity to help meet the needs in our community, gain experience in organization, communication and other skill areas, and learn about the needs and response system in this region.
TRAINING & ORIENTATION:
Volunteers must attend a training session prior to first work-shift. This training will detail the work the volunteer will be asked to complete in response to a heightened level of H1N1-related need in this area.
In addition, volunteers will get an orientation to the United Way of Olmsted County and our phone system. Volunteers should be comfortable speaking with people in person and over the phone, have intermediate computer and computer data entry skills, have good verbal, written, customer service skills and the ability to accurately gather information.
AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 18 and older.
COMMITMENT: Must commit to at least one 3-hour time slot per week.
DAY OF WEEK: Monday – Friday, 7 am-7 pm
Note: As a volunteer, you will NOT be exposed to those who are known to have H1N1. |
