Seward County CASA
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. Our Mission Statement is: Seward County CASA recruits, trains and supports community volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the Seward County court system.
Description:
CASA volunteers advocate for abused and neglect children going through the court process. CASA Volunteers visit with parents, grandparents, teachers, therapists, daycare providers, foster parents, Protection and Safety Workers, Guardian ad Litems and other persons having significant contact with the child or children the CASA represents. Volunteers receive 30 hours of training before they are appointed by the county judge as a CASA volunteer. Volunteers get to know the children they represent quit well. Volunteers are able to provide the child they represent with a voice in court. Volunteers tell the Judge what the child wants to happen in their life. Giving them a much needed powerful voice.
History:
Seward County CASA started in 1996 and continues in its mission to serve all abused and neglected children of Seward County.
