The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides nutritious foods to families with new mothers, children up to their 6th birthday, and seniors 60 years of age and older.
Description:
CSFP is run by Community Action Program (CAP)of Belknap-Merrimack County, Inc. CAP offers numerous programs to meet the needs of a vast majority of people. Most programs service clients in Merrimack and Belknap Counties, and a few programs service clients state-wide.
History:
CSFP has been around for 20+ years. We currently serve 2500 low income seniors a month, all living on a very low fixed income. The food we provide helps them out a great deal. This food is all some people have to eat in a month, and would go hungry without. The box packing opportunity is done soley by volunteers.
