We are Aseracare Hospice covering the 7 county region of Western Pennsylvania.

AseraCare Hospice provides medical, emotional, and spiritual support to individuals with terminal illnesses and their families...to create the best quality of life during the last months of life.

Aseracare Hospice, a national subsidiary of Golden Ventures, is well known in the Pittsburgh Region for it's outstanding and compassionate team members who provide equally outstanding and caring service.

Description:
We seek compassionate and caring volunteers who wish to bring comfort quality to the end-of-life journey for patients and/or their family members and caregivers.

Our volunteers are trained and offered opportunities within their locale. You may provide services in variety of ways, including: Direct volunteering through respite - sitting with the patient to give caregivers a break; reading to the patient, assisting the patient in life review through listening, journaling or scrapbooking, performing music for the patient...or simply chatting with them to help pass the time.

Indirect and clerical opportunities also exist.

History:
Aseracare Hospice, Aseracare Home Health, Golden Living Nursing Homes are owned by Golden Horizons, a national senior health holding company. Golden Horizons runs about 350 nursing homes and 20 assisted living centers. It was taken private in 2006, when private investor Fillmore Capital Partners bought it for more than $2 billion. It subsequently changed its name to Golden Horizons and rebranded all its company-owned operations under the "Golden" moniker.
