Description:
Children's Service Society of Wisconsin, a member of Children's Hospital and Health System, is the state's largest private, not-for-profit provider of child welfare services. Children's Service Society has a 120-year history, working with families to:
- Find loving, stable homes for children
in need of a family through foster care and adoption.
- Reduce stress and conflict, enhance
parenting skills and strengthen family ties through counseling.
- Provide services to children in out-of-home care, advocating for their safety, well-being and timely reunification with birthparents whenever possible.
- Offer free, confidential and supportive
guidance to help birthparents dealing with an unplanned pregnancy.
- Provide intensive in-home services to keep children safe in their homes and prevent out-of-home placement.
- Assist young adults transitioning out of foster care by giving them the skills, training, guidance and support enabling them to make it on their own.
- Provide parents with support and guidance to help them be the best parents they can be
History:
Children's Service Society of Wisconsin was established in 1889 to provide homes for orphaned and abandoned children. Children's Service Society becomes a member of Children's Hospital and Health System in 2004 and is now Wisconsin's largest, private, not-for-profit, provider of child welfare services and serves children and families from 37 locations throughout Wisconsin.
