Bethany Apartments
The mission of Bethany Apartments is to provide safe, decent, affordable, housing to women and children who have suffered domestic abuse; to provide supportive services that enable participants to regain their self-esteem and develop the skills needed to live independent lives; and to strive to enable the women and children to create an environment of non-violence in their relationships and in their families.
Description:
Bethany Apartments is sponsored by the Racine Dominicans and the Franciscan Ministries, Inc. Women and families are referred to Bethany Apartments through a network of agencies who work in the realm of domestic abuse. The length of stay at Bethany is from six months to two years. Residents are asked to participate in group meetings, domestic violence counseling and workshops that cover areas such as; parenting, finance and budgeting, healthy relationships, employment skills and self-esteem building and education.
