Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Family Literacy of Racine is looking for 1-2 people who would be willing to serve on an Advisory Board for the organization. Meetings are held 5 times a year, bimonthly except summer and usually last for 1-2 hours. Basic responsibilities are simple: attend board meetings, read relatively simple reports, provide input to Executive Director concerning fundraising, finances, and programming. Some board members also help with small fundraising opportunities, help with publicity, and/or provide services to FLR. That is optional. Al that is required is that the person have an interest in non profits/literacy and is willing to donate 10 hours a year for meetings.

There would be a simple board orientation, which usually can be provided in conjunction with the first board meeting.
