Overall Experience

Volunteering at the Racine Friendship Clubhouse has been amazing!
 |
I am volunteering at the Racine Friendship Clubhouse as a Computer Instructor. My experience has been very rewarding. I am always greeted with a smile, people know me by name and are very welcoming. I am in a very safe environment and am allowed to spend one-on-one quality time with the members. The best gift I have received is a smile on someone's face after I helped her send an e-mail to her daughter! Something so many of us take for granted, yet for this person it meant so much. This is what volunteering is all about! posted by sheila1 on March 19, 2009 |

Each one of us knows someone with mental illness. The people with mental illness are the same as we meet on the street each day. Helping these people makes them be able to do many things they would not be able to do without the Friendship House. The clliend friends I have made at the Friendship House are happy and smiling as they open the door and they know I am there to help the Club house be a better place for them to spend the day. posted on March 9, 2009 |
