According to the Center for Disease control and prevention, obesity is a serious health concern for children and adolescents. Obese children and adolescents are at risk for health problems during their youth and are more likely to become obese as adults. Somerset County United Way is focused on finding long lasting solutions to health issues by focusing on Healthy Lifestyles. Promote Healthy Lifestyles in children by volunteering to visit a day care center or nursery school in Somerset County and be a healthy lifestyles ambassador. Projects may include: • interacting with children by leading a dance and sing along program, • teach a yoga class, • create a healthy snack, • play active game(s) or • create a health related craft. Other health related ideas are welcome!
Please contact United Way three weeks prior to the project date. Volunteers to provide supplies for games, snack or craft.
