This Action Team aims to bring community members together for positive action, effective partnerships, and inspire initiatives to create more affordable housing options.

Action Team Goals

  • Families and individuals will be able to meet their basic needs.
  • Families and individuals will have access to services that promote financial literacy.
  • Families and individuals will develop asset-building skills.
  • Families and individuals will have access to safe and affordable housing.
  • Individuals will develop communication skills required for success in the workplace and community.
  • Individuals will have access to job support services and will use these services to gain and maintain employment.
  • Families and individuals will receive assistance transitioning from dependent or shelter living arrangements to permanent housing.

Duties: Attend Action Team meetings, conduct outside research, participate in small group work, review and evaluate programs proposals, conduct site visits as needed and input/develop strategic plan.
Time Commitment: 6-8 hours/month, can vary from month to month. Minimum of one 2-hour team meeting per month.

It is preferred that volunteers posses a strong knowledge of the community, analytical and strategic skills, as well as strong communication skills. Applicants with an interest in financial stability who wants to join a best-practices coalition to make community impact in is preferred.
