ARC Ohio is guided by an active and responsive volunteer governing body, the Board of Trustees. Collectively, the Board exercises fiduciary and governing responsibility for the organization, including: establishing a mission, goals, and strategic planning activities; policy-setting; budget approval and monitoring; and support and review of the executive director.
Board's Responsibilities:
Determine the organization's mission and purpose.
Select, support, and review the executive and his/her performance.
Ensure effective organizational planning.
Ensure adequate resources.
Ensure effective management of resources.
Determine and monitor programs and services.
Enhance the organization's public image.
Assess its own performance.
Trustee Expectations:
Know the organization's mission, goals, purposes, programs, and services.
Provide constructive input and participation in board activities and responsibilities.
Attend board meetings, held every other month.
Actively participate on Board committee(s).
Avoid conflict of interest.
Contribute/secure annual gift(s) consistent with board campaign guidelines.
Assist with other development/advancement activities.
We are currently seeking board members who have an interest in accessing major gifts from individuals, corporate, and foundations, and/or someone who has experience in public policy.
