Project Homeless Connect (PHC) will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2009 it is a service event to connect persons and families experiencing homelessness to services needed to become self-sufficient. PHC is promoted nationally by the US Interagency Council on Homelessness and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Locally, PHC events will take place in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill on the same date. Service providers and volunteers will provide direct assistance to homeless individuals and families during the event, including access to housing, healthcare, employment, social services, basic needs and education.

Volunteers are vital to the success of PHC and more than 150 are needed. Volunteers must be willing to attend a one-hour training session prior to the event on October 8, 2009.
