Volunteering for ASAP can be a fun and extremely rewarding experience. A list of expected duties include: -Being a reliable aid to the instructor whose class you are assigned -Assist in signing in and out the students attending classes -Being a responsible monitor over students before morning classes and during their lunch periods -Assist students with art projects -OPPORTUNITY IS JUNE 15-AUGUST 14, WEEKLY Those who volunteer for ASAP are asked for a one-week commitment working one of these shifts. The volunteers who choose to work both shifts in a day will have a 30-minute lunch break between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. Come prepared to get messy, wear old clothes! If you are volunteering for a full day shift you may want to bring lunch and/or a snack.
Volunteer shifts will be approximately four hours and fifteen minutes. First Shift - 8:15AM to 12:30PM Second Shift - 12:15PM to 4:30PM Each session accounts for approximately 20 volunteer hours. If you volunteer for two sessions in the same week you will have 40 volunteer hours. Morning shifts will include arriving at 8:15 AM and assisting teachers and staff with daily preparations plus signing in students or monitoring students before the morning session begins. At 9:00 AM morning session begins and volunteers will report to their assigned classrooms. At the completion of morning class, assist with classroom clean up and signing students out. Monitor students during first part of lunch period.
Afternoon shifts will include arriving at 12:15 PM signing afternoon students in and/or monitoring students during their lunch periods. At 1:00 PM, the afternoon session begins and volunteers will report to their assigned classrooms. At the completion of afternoon classes, volunteers will assist with classroom clean up and signing students out.
