Description:
Berkeley High School is a public high school in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, that serves 1500 students. Our attendance area includes Cordesville, Lebanon, McBeth, Moncks Corner, Pimlico, and Pinopolis. We have accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. We believe that every educated individual contributes to a stronger community.

History:
The original Berkeley High was located at the corner of Main Street and Live Oak Drive. This two-story brick structure was completed in 1929. In the 1920's the population of the county was sparse ans very rural. Traveling to Moncks Corner was difficult so dormitories were built on the campus to house students from out of town. Construction on another campus began in the early 1950's at 406 West Main Street. In 1971 the student body of Berkeley Training School joined in with the student body of Berkeley High. The junior high was changed to be part of the high school, and the old Berkeley Training campus became home to the new Berkeley Middle School. Construction of our new building began in 2001. The class of 2004 was the first to graduate from the new facility. The school presently has 99 classrooms that include 8 computer labs, 11 science labs, 7 vocational labs, band and chorus rooms, a media center, weight room, 2 gyms, and an auditorium. The other facilities include administrative offices, a cafeteria, custodial closets, baseball and softball diamonds, a football stadium, 4 tennis courts, and storage rooms and buildings.

Directions:

From I-26, take Hwy 17-A into Moncks Corner. At the intersection of 17-A (Live Oak Drive) and Main Street, turn left onto West Main Street. Berkeley High is approximately one mile further on the right.
