The Outreach Learning Center strives to reduce poverty by encouraging self-reliance through job and life skills training, technology instruction and English Language acquisition.
Description:
The Center offers on-going after school programs and summer reading club for inner city kids. English as a Second Language courses and adult job and life skills courses (including computer training) are throughout the year.
History:
The center is a vision of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. The congregation ran a successful $1.2 million capital campaign to the purpose of restoration of the building next door for use as a community center.
