Our desire is to provide women who want change with a safe haven free from dangers and deceptions of life while recovering from addictions. Networking with other agencies, volunteering and class attendance provide residents with the opportunity to work out effective change and establish new life patterns. The woman who chooses change will come out of addictions, hopelessness and depression into a life with purpose, a good hope and future.
Description:
House of Hope is a home for hurting women. Our rehabilitation program centers on behavioral change, emotional support and safety while experiencing the transforming power of the love of God. Addiction to drugs or alcohol, compulsive behaviors, trauma, and failed relationships can be doors of opportunity for God to use to restore people to health and wholeness. Residents learn to recognize and separate themselves from the destructive patterns of the past and learn how to live a fulfilled life led by God, receiving healing and restoration in spirit, body and soul.
History:
House of Hope Rehabilitation Center for Women opened in July 2007 under the supervision of Celebration Station and Charleston Expression. We are located in North Charleston off Spruill Ave. Pastor Glenn Gilbert opened the church 13 years ago to help relieve the pain of poverty, crime, joblessness and despair that prevailed. A survey of the area revealed rehab programs for men but none for women. A local Christian businessman donated the house and area churches began to lend a hand. We rely on volunteers and donations to pay the bills so that these women will have the opportunity to recover themselves.
