The Company Company creates community through the arts. We are dedicated to producing musical and theatrical events that promote personal transformation and benefit the common good.
Description:
The Company Company inspires audiences, nurtures artists and uplifts the community through its productions. Reflecting the passion and innovation of itinerant performers of old, the organization takes its productions from place to place. The company has performed in such diverse venues as Brittlebank Park, school cafeterias, the Village Playhouse, Boone Hall Plantation, hospitals and Marion Square. The Company Company contributes to the establishment of Charleston as a theatre destination.
History:
Since 1999, the organization has produced its flagship, The Good Time Variety Hour, Independence Day variety shows, dinner theater events, music theater workshops and its new interfaith initiative, Hymnfest, as well as co-produced six large-scale musical and theatrical pieces with other arts organizations in the community. The Company Company recently launched its new "Shows at Circular" series with the Broadway musical hit, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
