The Odyssey Mission is: To serve all people during the end of life's journey. One of our defining service standards is Y.C.C.O.M.- You Can Count On Me.
Description:
Odyssey HealthCare is a hospice organization which improves the quality of life for terminally ill patients and their families. We serve people in their private residences, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. Hospice is holistic in that it cares for the person/family physically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Our team of professionals include nurses, home health aides, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers, among others. We also continue to work with the bereaved family up to 13 months after the death of their loved one. Odyssey Healthcare places their patients and families first. It is vital to us that our patients and families are comfortable and supported during this most difficult time in their lives.
History:
Odyssey HealthCare was founded nationally in 1995 with the mission To serve all people during the end of life's journey. Odyssey HealthCare opened our doors in Charleston in 2001. Odyssey HealthCare remains the largest hospice in the nation and the first to be publicly traded. We are a for-profit organization that strives to provide the best service to our patients and families and to support our communities as best as we can.
