Through education, advocacy and outreach, Rural Mission respectively provides a lifting hand - spiritually, emotionally, physically, economically - whatever the need, ministering with compassion to anyone on the SC Sea Islands (Johns, Wadmalaw, Yonges & Edisto Islands).

Description:
Our volunteer workteams provide the materials and labor to help renovate or build homes for the elderly or low income single parent families. Many families live in substandard homes.

History:
Rural Mission, Inc. was founded in 1969. It is a non-profit organization providing human services to low-income Sea Island families (Johns, Wadmalaw, Yonges and Edisto Islands) and migrant farmworkers.

From Highway 17 South - make left turn onto Main Road. Stay on Main Road until you get to the second stop light, go through the light - the road name changes to Bohicket Road - stay on Bohicket Road until you get to a stop light - the road name changes to Betsy Kerrison Parkway (4 lanes), go about approximately 6 miles - Camp Care Road is a right turn off Betsy Kerrison Parkway.
