Intake Specialists for the VITA program

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Free tax preparation and electronic filing service available to low- to moderate-income individuals throughout the Tricounty area. Volunteer Intake Specialists are asked to
▪ Greet clients coming into the sites.
▪ Assist in gathering preliminary information on intake sheet and
▪ Ensure that individuals have the proper taxpayer documents in order to receive services (e.g. W-2, 1099’s, last year’s return, W-2’s, SSA cards, etc.).
▪ Provide community asset building information.
▪ Maintain a sign-in sheet.
▪ Answer taxpayer questions about site procedures and services available at site.
▪ Monitor site traffic to ensure that sufficient time is allowed for all taxpayers being checked in to receive assistance.

Intake Specialists will be required to complete a 3-hour classroom training.
