Winter and Holiday Outreach to Low Income Families

Low income families, the elderly, vulnerable children and migrant children and families face hardships in the winter and during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday seasons. The Mission needs volunteers to help these residents, distribute donated items, care for children, adopt a family for Christmas, distribute needed firewood for heating and donate and distribute warm clothing and bedding. Holiday meals are always welcome and needed.

The Mission provides direction, training and guidance. No experience necessary. Volunteers who speak and understand Spanish are always very much needed.

We need volunteers who are free at these times
Weekdays  Weekly
Weekends
This volunteer opportunity is available to the following types of volunteers

Directions:

 From Charleston, take Maybank Highway to Johns Island. Take a left on Main Road/Bohicket Road. Go approximately 10 miles and take a right on Camp Care Road. Follow thgis road to the end and turn left into the Mission.

Expected Outcome
Provide low income families, residents with a warm and special Holiday season. Help meet food and hunger needs. Make low income homes and lives more comfortable in winter.
What supplies are needed to complete this project
N/A All donations are welcome, especially food, clothing and bedding.
What supplies will volunteers be asked to provide
Donations of all winter items and food are a priority. Donated Christmas gifts are needed.
