Income tax preparation volunteers

Volunteer tax preparers needed to provide free tax preparation services to low to moderate income families and individuals. Volunteers will be asked to
▪ Complete the 12-hour IRS intermediate tax law and software training
▪ Prepare the basic 1040 tax returns and related schedules
▪ Files returns electronically

No prior tax experience necessary, but must be able to complete training -- either online or in class -- and pass a certification test. In-class training dates are Monday, January 4, 5-9pm and Wednesday, January 6, 5-9pm at Charleston County Main Library, 68 Calhoun Street; Saturday, January 9, 10am-2pm at the Dorchester Road Library. There is also a 3-hour review/orientation for college student volunteers TBA the week of January 11.
