The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Description:
The Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by 300 volunteers and growing, providing immediate relief to disaster victims and training people to prepare for and respond to emergencies. We serve 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in response to crisis, here in Utah, across the country and around the world.

History:
Last year alone, our Greater Salt Lake Chapter volunteers provided Red Cross Services to thousands of families and individuals. We aided families affected by disaster such as an earthquake, home fires, wildfires and floods. We taught community members signature Red Cross life-saving classes (CPR, First Aid, Water Safety), disaster preparedness, and other ways to save ourselves and our families. We provided services to scores of military families of Utahans serving in the middle east. We aided countless families through utilities assistance and other programs.
