Swaner EcoCenter in Park City, Utah, seeks to preserve the land and the human connection to the natural landscape, to educate the local and broader communities about the value of nature, and to nurture both the ecosystem and the people connected with it.

Description:
Originally known as Swaner Nature Preserve, Swaner EcoCenter is opening its brand new center, which will be the greenest building in Utah, in Park City in the fall of 2008. But the Preserve has been protecting and nurturing 1200 acres of critical habitat, including high altitude wetlands and streams, since 1993. Many species of rare plant and animal wildlife depend upon the land to survive, and since the wetlands act as a watershed for the Snyderville Basin, the human community depends upon the land to maintain good water quality. Swaner EcoCenter seeks to nurture the land and educate the greater community about the importance of conservation in its own backyard.
