Welcome to Project Linus Project Linus is a 100% volunteer organization with a two-fold mission:
- First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers"
- Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
Description:
Project Linus in Salt Lake County gives the blankets we make to hospitals, shelters, crisis nurseries, police/fire departments and any child in a traumatic or critical care situation. To learn more about Project Linus and see blanket making ideas go to www.projectlinus.org The blankets can be fleece, knitted, crocheted or quilts. We give the blankets to children from birth to 18 yrs. old. The blanket is theirs to keep. You may make your blankets in your home or with your group or join us for Make a Blanket Days - the first Monday of each month at Our Savior's Lutheran Church 3900 S 2500 E from 10-2, or the third Tuesday at South Jordan Library 10673 S. Redwood Rd. from 5-8. We have all the supplies and samples of blankets. The blankets we make on Make a Blanket Day are fleece. Please join us to make blankets for the children!
