Formed in 1991, The Downtown Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to promoting downtown Salt Lake City as the premier commercial, cultural, entertainment, and business center in the Intermountain West. The Alliance is an advocate for the downtown area through economic development initiatives, marketing efforts, special event organization and promotion, and by serving as an information resource to the downtown property owners, businesses, and residents. The Downtown Alliance became an affiliate of the Salt Lake Chamber in 2003.
