The mission of the National Kidney Foundation of Utah & Idaho is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation,

The National Kidney Foundation of Utah & Idaho provides support to dialysis and transplant patients and their families through:
- Emergency Financial Aid
- Educational Scholarships
- Dialysis Transportation Program
- Summer Camps and Recreation Programs
- Education Conferences and Publications
- Patient Support Groups
- Dialysis Laptop Computer Program
- Nutritional Supplement Program
NKF of Utah & Idaho funds substantive loal medical research projects, educates the public regarding the prevention of kidney disease and promotes organ donation awareness and education. The Foundtion monitors health policy development and legislation.
History:
In 1957 the National Kidney Foundation's original mission was to fund medical research and to raise money for dialysis machines for every hospital in America. The Utah charter was established in January of 1986. Idaho was added to Utah's Affiliate in 2005. The mission and programs as stated above continue to expand with the rise of kidney disease in the US. The NKF of Utah & Idaho is the only health care organization serving the health and human servies needs of Utah and Idaho dialysis and transplant patients and funding local medical reseach in the field of nephrology.
