This blockbuster exhibition will be on view from June 23,2008 to September 21, 2008. The exhibit covers a century of art making from 1864 to 1964. The exhibit highlights work by major Impressionists, Post-Impressionists, and early modern sculptors, Dadaists, and Surrealists. Key works by Monet, Manet, Cezanne, van Gogh, Rodin, Picasso, and Dali will be on display. There are two ways you can participate in the "Monet to Picasso" exhibit:
- "Monet to Picasso" Volunteer -Welcome visitors to the Museum. Assist visitors with directions to various museum locations: cafe, restrooms, coat & baggage check, ticket sales. Ensure smooth flow of visitors into the exhibit by managing the queuing lines at the exhibit entrance.
- "Monet to Picasso" Gift Store Volunteer - Greet visitors. Answer questions about merchandise, Assist staff by conducting sales, cleaning, adjusting, and restocking merchandise displays. Previous sales experience required.
There will be a series of 6 required training sessions which will be offered in May and June. All trainings will be 90-minutes in length and will be offered 3 times (weekday, weekend, and evening) to accommodate all of our volunteers. At these sessions you will learn about the content of the exhibition as well as the Museum's services, policies, and procedures. A volunteer commitment of one 4-hour shift per week. Volunteering at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts can provide you with the opportunity to do community service, learn new things, and meet interesting people.
