Volunteers are invaluable to Houston Hospice. They provide both practical assistance and compassionate care to our patients and family members. Volunteers may lend their time and talents in two different capacities. First of all, volunteers may serve in direct patient and family assistance. These services include, but are not limited to the following: Sitting with patients, translating, making phone calls, and running errands. Volunteers interested in direct patient and family assistance must complete a twenty-five volunteer training course. Secondly, volunteers may serve as Administrative Volunteers. Jobs may include filing, data entry, putting together charts and packets, making phone calls and assisting with general office duties. Administrative Volunteers are required to complete four hours of training. Volunteer opportunities exist in all of Houston and the adjacent service areas (ten counties).
All volunteers must attend a twenty-five hour of training course and receive a negative TB Test This opportunity is sponsored by: Houston Hospice
