Rapides Habitat for Humanity builds safe and affordable housing in partnership with families.

Description:
Habitat selects families (1 person plus) based on their need, ability to pay an income based mortgage, capability of maintaining the home, and willingness to partner with Habitat. The driving force of our organization is our volunteers working in tandem with families who must perform "sweat equity". Habitat homes are then sold to partner families interest free and at no profit. Their monthly mortgage payments go into a revolving fund, which the organization uses to build more homes. Individuals, churches, and businesses make our vision tangible via tax deductible donations of money, land, and materials.
