Bay Path's mission is to be a trusted partner in providing an array of services and programs to older adults, caregivers, and persons with disabilities to support their independence and dignity.

Description:
BayPath offers Home care and related services enabling people to live independently and comfortably in their homes while promoting their well-being and dignity. Many BayPath Services are free, others are based on one's ability to pay and some are offered on a fee-for-service basis.

The Nursing Home Ombudsman Program trains and certifies volunteers to investigate and help resolve concerns of elderly residents of long-term care facilities. Ombudsman also provide information and refer nursing and rest home residents and their families to community resources. History:
Founded in 1977 as a non-profit corporation, BayPath has over thirty years experience serving and advocating for the needs of older citizens.

The Ombudsman program was established by President Nixon in 1971. He developed an eight point bulletin to improve the quality of care in America's Nursing Homes.
-Train Nursing Home Inspectors
-100% support of State Inspectors under Medicaid
-consolidate enforcement activities
-Strengthen enforcement activities
-Short-term training for Nursing Home personnel
-Assistance for State Investigative Ombudsman units
-comprehensive review of long term care
-crack down on substandard nursing homes;and cut off federal dollars to those facilities
