Framingham Public Schools
A Public School District
Description:
The Framingham Public School District enrolls 8,300 students in one pre-school, eight elementary schools, three middle schools and a single high school. The community is the suburban, yet urban hub of MetroWest, with a population that largely mirrors the demographics of the United States. Students speak more than 60 languages, and nearly half are identified as racial or language minorities. The community is economically diverse, as demonstrated by the 2,550 students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, the nation’s poverty indicator. Some schools have a F/R lunch population as high as 63% while the middle school average is 38%. In a typical classroom, a student who lives in a million dollar estate may be seated alongside a student who resides in a shelter or public housing complex.
