Volunteer Opportunity Details:

If you love sports or just want to spend some time with kids, please step up to the plate! The YMCA needs coaches for t-ball (May-June), soccer (September-October and March-April) and basketball (November-December and January-February). If you are a beginner, we can provide lesson plans for each practice and lots of encouragement and advice. Remember, it's not about being the best athlete, it's about teaching kids to love the game and feel great about being part of the team. Contact the Program Director at (660) 665-1922.

The YMCA requires background checks on all volunteer coaches. Persons with a conviction relating to the safety or welfare of children or an offense on the child abuse and neglect registry will not be allowed to coach. Those with any kind of felony conviction in the last five years will also be disqualified from coaching, but will have the opportunity to appeal to the Executive Committee of the YMCA Board.
