From March 21, 2009 to May 2, 2009 a traveling Smithsonian Exhibit, New Harmonies: Celebrating Roots of American Music, will be hosted by Kirksville Arts Association at the Kirksville Arts Center. The Kirksville Arts Association was selected as the premier site from one of six applicants who wrote the initial grant to host this exhibit. Docent Training will occur on March 20th at the Kirksville Arts Center. Music from our community and surrounding area heritage will be highlighted at this exhibit as well as performers (performances). This is a once in a life time opportunity to learn about your musical heritage, and to be a part of history. Docent training will be necessary for this exhibit. Hours of the exhibit will span daytime, evening and week end hours. Contact the Executive director for further information on docent training.
