OASIS is nonprofit organization for adults 50 and over, which offers challenging programs in the arts, humanities, health, technology and volunteer service. Its mission is to enrich the lives of older adults. Membership is free.
Description:
OASIS offers classes and opportunities for older people to continue their personal growth and serve their communities. Classes are held at the OASIS Center, 6161 NW LOOP 410, inside the Macy's Furniture Store. Office is open Mon- Fri, 10 am to 4 pm. We also offer classes at 20 outreach sites all over San Antonio. Over 40% of our classes are free; others are at a nominal fee. Sponsors are the City of San Antonio, Wellmed, Macy's and Warm Springs Rehabilitation. An intergenerational tutoring program is offered where trained volunteers go into grades 1, 2, and 3 to help children increasing their reading. A Person to Person program is available free of charge to those going through difficult times.

The Center has been open for 15 years. OASIS serves over 17,000 members and over 20 outreach
