San Antonio Jewish Coalition For Literacy

We provide volunteer tutors/mentors to assist elementary school students in reading and/or math during school hours. Volunteers choose the school, day and time they want to commit to working with the same student once a week for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Description:
The Tu-To-R program of the San Antonio Jewish Coalition for Literacy coordinates volunteers who help children in their own schools on a weekly basis. This program is dedicated to eradicating illiteracy in San Antonio. It is a non-profit educational and advocacy organization that provides mentors and tutors through the school systems in San Antonio

History:
This program is beginning its 21st year. Volunteers are from a diversity of cultures and religions. They assist students by extending reading or mathematics learning opportunities to those in need of support in these areas.
